This policy describes how RiddleRush ("we", "our", "the App") collects, uses, and protects your information.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
- When you sign in with Apple, we receive your Apple user ID (an opaque identifier) and, if you choose to share it, your name.
- We store a username you choose, which is visible to other players for invites and game groups.
Game Data
- We store your game groups, player memberships, scores, round attempts, and riddle progress to provide the service.
- This data is stored in Firebase Firestore.
Device & Push Notifications
- We store a Firebase Cloud Messaging token linked to your user ID to send push notifications (daily riddles, turn reminders, group invites).
- We do not collect precise location data.
Purchase Data
- In-app purchases (e.g., Reveal Answer) are processed by Apple. We receive purchase confirmation but not your payment details.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the App (groups, games, scoring)
- To send push notifications you've opted into
- To prevent abuse and enforce our Terms of Service
- To improve the App
3. Data Storage & Location
Your data is stored on Firebase (Google Cloud). We use:
- Firebase Auth for authentication
- Firestore for user profiles, usernames, groups, and game data
- Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- Service providers (Firebase/Google) necessary to operate the App
- Other players in your game groups (username, scores, attempts)
- Law enforcement if required by law
5. Your Rights
- Delete your account: Settings → Delete Account removes your user profile, username claim, and associated data from our systems.
- Some data may remain in backups for a limited period before being purged.
- You can disable push notifications in your device settings.
- Apple Sign In: You can revoke the App's access in your Apple ID settings.
6. Children
RiddleRush is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such data, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures (Firebase security rules, HTTPS) to protect your data. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
